Dropbox

I’ve been sleeping on this for a while now, it’s really an amazing tool.
Matt Farmer discussed it on his blog:

Dropbox is a great application I found out about a few months back. You create an account and install a service on a number of computers that you use, and it creates a folder that will stay in sync across all of them. The best part about this is that if any computer isn’t on, when it wakes up, it goes out and checks what it’s missed, and syncs back up, and its FAST.

There is also a sharing section, where you can share a portion of your account with another user, and let them upload and delete files. It combines your usable space for this areas, so on group projects it gets quick first. Ohh and did I mention it has its own built in file versioning system?

There’s also a special folder for Photos that will automatically generate an online picture album of any pictures / folders placed into here. Of all the features, while I like some of the other ones a whole lot more, I use this one the most. Its great when working on web sites with clients and being able to save screen shots directly to this folder and show them what I’m seeing.

When I first found out about Dropbox, I was so excited about it, I went on a big kick about how everyone should be using it, but after time this excitement died down. Well now, Dropbox is giving away an extra 256MB of storage space (up to 3GB) (on top of the 2GB you get just for signing up) for every user you refer to the site, and so I’m back at it. busy busy busy

A lot has been going on so my writings have dwindled…

I applied to be the manager of the South Portland SW, but I don’t think I’ll get it just due to the fact that I suck at interviewing and a few other things involved in it not being in my favor.

Ignorance has been playing shows almost evey weekend, so I pretty much work all week and drive to and play shows on my days off.  Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s wearing me down.

SW or bust

After some deliberation and some soul searching, I’ve decided to stick with SW.  There a lot better opportunity for growth and movement than with TW.  Both had a lot of good things to help my situation improve, but when i weighed out the pros and cons SW won.

In other news, I received a letter about my loan status and I qualify for a re-lending program.  This program allows a lender to purchase my bad debt and changes my default status to active which will in turn shoot my credit score from in the negatives back up to citizen.

band

So, I’ve had this section for a while and haven’t gotten around to posting in it.. so here it goes:

I had a dream the other night.  Unlike my regular dreams as of late (selling paint.. yes I dream about my job.. I suck.) this one was about being back in high school.  More specifically, being back in band class.  Sitting there oiling up my trumpet because the valves were sticking.

I’m no psychologist, so I have no idea what that was supposed to mean or represent, but I just found it odd because I haven’t played my trumpet since I graduated.

movin’ on up

Ok, it’s been a while… I was promoted to the assistant manager position at the Springvale store location. Which is a forty minute drive from my house. I’ve gotten used to it now. I like the store and the people, but i do miss the ten minute drive home i had when I worked in Scarborough. I’ve been working quite a bit, so I’ve been very tired and haven’t done anything more then sleeping and working lately. I was waiting for my body to adjust, which is has and I’m pretty much back up to par again.

Other happenings:

My band, Our Last Stand, has been dismantled and we’re all taking a break and looking into new ideas and new arraignments and so forth – more on this will come.
